Sometimes you get a chance to make a lasting mark on a brand, and for my talented partner Jon Gelder and I, Beans & Brews was just such an opportunity. Our multi-year engagement with this growing coffee house chain gave us the unique chance to dive all the way deep and rethink visual branding elements, brand strategy, brand voice, messaging strategy, audience definition, product photography, menu copy, website … everything all the way down to the baristas’ apron design.
This creative work helped usher in an acceleration in the business’ growth, attracting well-deserved attention from investors and franchisees. And, as a bonus, we now know more about coffee roasting than we ever knew we could. (If the relationship between coffee beans and altitude ever comes up at trivia night, you want me on your team.)
